Getting started

How do I start using Octet?

Create a console account. Testnet access is free and needs no approval, so you can build on the same day. Mainnet opens after a review with Octet and a signed contract. The steps are in the developer guide.

Do I need a contract to use testnet?

No. Testnet is free once you sign up. The contract comes at the mainnet step, where the plan and the go-live setup are agreed.

What changes between testnet and mainnet?

Only the host and the API token. Your code stays the same. Before go-live you also register the IPs that call the API and set withdrawal approval on every wallet. The full comparison is in the developer guide.

How long does integration take?

Sign-up takes minutes, and your team builds the deposit and withdrawal loop on testnet within its own sprint. After the contract and review, going live is a configuration change: you switch the host and the token, and the code stays the same.

Which programming languages can we use?

Any language that can send HTTPS requests. Integration is through the REST API with a Bearer token, and the API reference documents every endpoint, field and error code.

Can a developer new to blockchain integrate Octet?

Yes. The developer guide walks through sign-up, deposit and withdrawal flows, authentication and webhooks with request and response examples, and no chain-specific code is needed because the same API works on every network. Once the MCP server is live, you can also connect your coding assistant to the docs.

Wallets and operations

What wallet types does Octet provide?

Three. Custody wallets hold your balances, child addresses receive customer deposits under the main wallet, and withdrawal wallets send funds out. How they work together is on the platform page.

How do deposits reach my system?

Each customer gets a child address. When funds arrive, Octet sends a deposit webhook to your server, and you sweep the funds into the main wallet on your schedule.

What happens after I request a withdrawal?

The request waits for approval. An approver confirms it in the console, Octet signs with multi-signature keys and broadcasts the transaction, and a webhook reports each state change. You can cancel before signing.

Can I stop withdrawals during an incident?

Yes. Withdrawal pause stops every withdrawal with one switch in the console, and security alerts tell you about unusual activity.

What can my team set in the console without code changes?

Withdrawal approval, API IP registration, console IP limits, webhooks, security alerts, withdrawal pause, multi-signature keys and token or NFT listing requests. Each control is described on the platform page.

Can the same webhook event arrive twice?

Yes. Check the event id first, respond 200, then process. The event list and payload fields are in the API reference.

Can I issue tokens or NFTs?

Yes. The API deploys NFT contracts and mints, transfers and burns them, and new assets are listed through a request in the console.

Compliance and security

Who provides the service?

Octet is operated by Hecto Innovation, a KOSDAQ-listed company. Virtual asset services and technology are provided by Hecto Walletone, whose VASP registration was accepted by Korea's Financial Intelligence Unit in December 2021.

Is Octet ISMS certified?

Yes. Hecto Walletone holds ISMS certification ISMS-KISA-2021-126, and the scope covers the virtual asset custody service and the wallet solution. Details are on the compliance page.

How are keys managed?

Wallets sign with multi-signature keys, so no single key moves funds. Every withdrawal also waits for approval in the console before a key signs.

Does Octet support the Travel Rule?

Yes. Octet helps you meet your Travel Rule obligation on transfers to other VASPs. The method and the integration procedure are agreed per project during the review, and a test flow is available on testnet. Travel Rule and screening are not included in Starter, are an add-on on Growth and are included from Scale.

How is the service secured?

Every API call needs a Bearer token from a registered IP, console sign-in can be limited to your office or VPN, withdrawals wait for approval, and security alerts flag unusual activity. Hecto Walletone also holds ISMS certification for the custody service and the wallet solution.

Is there an audit trail?

Yes. Every withdrawal state change arrives on the webhook, transaction history is available through the API for reconciliation, and mints and burns are recorded in the audit trail.

Can Octet run on our own infrastructure?

Yes. Octet runs in the cloud, on dedicated tenancy or on-premise, and dedicated or on-premise deployment is part of the Enterprise plan.

Pricing and contract

How is Octet priced?

There are four plans: Starter, Growth, Scale and Enterprise. Prices depend on wallets, networks, users and the support level, and Growth is the smallest plan for a production service. List prices are on the pricing page.

Are there fees on assets under custody or on transaction volume?

No. Nothing is charged on balances or volume.

Is billing monthly or annual?

Both. Annual billing includes two months free. Prices are listed as of October 2026 excluding VAT, and the contract sets the final terms.

How are wallets and networks counted?

Custody wallets, child addresses and withdrawal wallets all count toward the wallet allowance. Each mainnet you enable counts as one network, and there are 23 mainnets as of October 2026.

Can we ask for custom features?

Custom policies and approval rules are included from the Growth plan. Enterprise adds custom networks and dedicated or on-premise deployment. For anything else, contact sales.

Can we move to a larger plan during the term?

Yes. You can move up at any time, and the terms of the change are set in the contract.

Support and networks

Which networks are supported?

23 mainnets and 2 testnet-only networks (GIWA and MAROO) as of October 2026, and the same API works on every chain. The full list is in the documentation.

Can you add a network we need?

Yes, ask us. Networks are added on request, and custom networks are part of the Enterprise plan.

What support comes with each plan?

Starter has weekday email support. Growth adds a 48-hour response time and the status page. Scale has a 24-hour response time and a dedicated channel. Enterprise support is set in the contract.

What should I include when I contact support?

The request id, the wallet index and the timestamp. With those three, the team can trace the call.

Where are the API docs?

The API reference covers every endpoint, and the developer guide covers the flows. A text index for AI tools is at /llms.txt.
